Description of Services:
Resource centre where adults with any type of disability help each other achieve personal success and independence in the community * information and referral
Information and Referral - Access cross-disability information for people with disabilities, their families and/or friends, and the general community * discover available resources and services in the region
Research and Development - Identify needs in the community and respond to those needs * may consist of developing a new program or hosting a seminar or forum on a particular subject
Peer Support - Participants share information, ideas, life experiences and skills while enjoying social activities
Individual Advocacy/Independent Living Skills - Support to consumers pursuing advocacy goals through one-to-one communication and workshops on various topics
Self-Managed Attendant Care - Direct Funding - Information booklets and application kits to receive direct funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to self-manage attendant care * individuals with physical disabilities may be eligible
