Stroke & TIA Management Update for Primary care Practitioners

Please come for an afternoon session to learn about updates to Stroke and TIA management for primary care providers. This is an opportunity to network with local stroke specialists from Windsor Regional Hospital.  This program has been sponsored in part by the Southwestern Ontario Stroke Network via the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

Location: Fogolar Furlan Windsor, 1800 North Service Road (E.C. Row), Windsor, Ontario

Workshop Objectives:
 Provide a practical, primary care-based approach to stroke/TIA diagnosis and management
 Review the Canadian Best Practice Recommendations related to secondary stroke prevention
 Provide an update of what’s new in the stroke prevention literature
 Reflect upon the role of primary care providers in optimizing stroke prevention
 Share community resources in the Southwestern Ontario region

Target Audience:
Primary and secondary care practitioners working in Windsor- Essex and Chatham-Kent counties,
including Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Family Practice residents
