Workshop: Introduction to Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia

This two hour interactive workshop is designed for health care professionals interacting with people who have aphasia, and others who know more than they can say (e.g. people who do not speak English). The primary purpose of this workshop is to provide innovative communication solutions to increase communicative access for people with aphasia and other language disorders.
- Learning Objectives:
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
Develop an understanding of communication barriers to accessing stroke services
Be exposed to the basics of Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia
Have a framework for adapting ideas (including familiarity with both methods and innovative pictographic resources) to their own setting - Date:
